Thank you, Julia, for sifting through that garbage in the dump in Mexico and bringing my pal, Lamont, into my life.
In the most important ways, I was the one who was rescued by Lamont, and am the luckier half in Lamont and my relationship. We are celebrating our special union over these holidays with extra cookies and smooches for each other, and giving thanks for the good fortune that brought us together.
From April 4, 2012 posted by Lamont's secret guardian angel, Julia Clement Genatossio, from Punta Banda, Baja, Mexico.:
" Went to the landfill today to take photographs and survey the trash. Pulled up to the container and I heard a whimpering…got on my hands and knees and crawled toward the sound. Carol came over and directed me, lifted a piece of plywood, a tarp, dug down into the side and pulled this little fellow out."

And on April 5:
_"_All, we just dropped 'Lamont' off at the new local shelter, St Paco's de Cantu. Note to self and others -don't name a foster pet that you don't intend to keep. Lamont….sweet Lamont…we went back to the shelter a few minutes ago and I asked to see h__im again. I told them that if he was in anyway unhappy to come and get me. I then inquired about puppy milk, they have none and he is in a trailer with three other new young pup arrivals. I am now making a vat of special milk for 'Lamont'. I must say, his name is so perfect for him. @Julia, he is in Mexico…he may be en route to San Diego to a forever home soon. Fingers crossed."

And three days later Lamont in his beloved Abraham Lincoln Park on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.:
Lamont has come a long way in the short time since he was born nearly nine months ago.
He and I are best pals. And we have agreed to be a team for life.
He has made me a very happy fellow, and I am the lucky one. Although he has had his share of luck too, and I think has never wavered from thinking life has always been just about perfect.

Although, Lamont, who has never shied away from expressing himself, seems to have zippo complaints either.
